Event Description
|
With the recent trend towards multi-core processors there is a new need to write applications to take advantage of the hardware. There are multiple ways to do this in .NET and in 4.0 it has gotten even easier.
In this talk we will cover the basics of parallel programming, common problems with multi-threaded applications, the Parallel Extensions to the .NET framework (included in .NET 4.0) including the Task Parallel Library, and PLINQ and the coordination data structures.
FUNdamentals Series
Silverlight and RIA Services - Peter Tweed
A whistle stop development of a simple application to use RIA Services with Silverlight. Peter will demonstrate how to use Visual Studio to put the pieces together and talk through the advantages of RIA Services and why it is here.
