Event Description

Learn how to build an n-tier Rich Internet Applications (RIA) on Silverlight 4 by tapping the power of .NET RIA Services! Peter Kellner will walk you through an example, building a business application from scratch using the pattern run-time components and tools provided by .NET RIA Services. He will show you how it helps you write application logic to expose data and operations in a carefully controlled fashion using tools integrated into Visual Studio 2010 with support for validation, authentication, authorization and handling units of work.

Presenter's Bio

Peter Kellner founded 73rd Street Associates in 1990. Accomplishments at 73rd Street Associates include successfully delivering systems for university clinic scheduling, insurance company management and a turnkey physician office management to over 500 customers nation wide. In the year 2000, 73rd Street Associates Assets were all purchased by a large insurance company, leading Peter to a career as an independent software consultant.

Peter has been a Microsoft MVP for the past 4 years. Technologies currently involved with include ASP.NET, Oracle, Java, VOiP, and soon, SQL Server. He is also the organizer of the Silicon Valley Code Camp. When not working, Peter spends most his free time biking including recently riding from Los Angeles to Georgia in 27 days with his Wife Tammy.

Peter Kellner Graduated From Cornell University in Ithaca, New York with a Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
